Market outlook
Stable Outlook 6/10
Modern illustration rares often settle after initial release once supply enters the market. Because Pansear has niche rather than mass demand, price movement will likely be steady with occasional bumps from grading scarcity or set completion interest.
Next months. Likely to remain range-bound with small fluctuations in raw and graded prices as more copies are opened and graded.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card may see gradual appreciation in high-grade copies if gem-mint supply stays limited, but raw copies should remain relatively affordable unless Pansear gains unusual collector attention.
History
Pansear is a Fire-type Basic Pokemon introduced in the Pokemon Black and White era (Generation V). It is the monkey-like 'fire elemental' counterpart in the elemental monkey trio, alongside Pansage and Panpour. Pansear evolves into Simisear using a Fire Stone. In the trading card game, Pansear is a relatively low-profile Pokemon that often appears as a common or thematic Fire-type basic, but illustration rare versions give it added collector appeal through full-art character illustration and special foil treatment.
This English White Flare Pansear Illustration Rare (#099/086) was first released in the Scarlet & Violet: White Flare expansion in 2025. White Flare released internationally in 2025, following its Japanese debut earlier the same year.
- This card is an Illustration Rare, with secret-rare style numbering 099/086, meaning its number exceeds the main set count.
- The illustration rare artwork is credited to GOTO minori and shows Pansear in a natural forest scene holding a berry, which is a major collector draw.
- White Flare includes both a regular Pansear and this higher-end illustration rare version, giving collectors multiple versions of the same Pokemon to chase.
Collector notes
Condition. Check for centering, edge whitening, corner dings, surface scratches, and foil scuffs, especially on the full-art holo area. Illustration Rares can show print lines, texture wear, and visible roller marks more easily than regular cards. Pay close attention to the back surface for edge nicks and handling wear, since even small flaws can affect grade value significantly.
Storage. Store the card immediately in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder. Keep it away from humidity, direct light, and temperature swings. For long-term storage, use archival-quality sleeves and binders with side-loading pages or graded slabs for the highest-end copies. Avoid touching the surface with bare fingers.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should have crisp texture, consistent holo/foil pattern, correct font spacing, and clean set numbering 099/086. Counterfeits often have washed-out colors, incorrect texture depth, blurry text, poor alignment, or an unnatural shine. Compare the card’s holo pattern and texture to verified images from major marketplaces and grading company exemplars. For expensive high-grade copies, buy only from reputable sellers or cards already graded by graded, graded, graded, or similar services.
