Market outlook
Rising Outlook 7/10
Collector demand for premium Mega Evolution chase cards is strong, and Gardevoir remains one of the most desirable Pokémon brands in the TCG. As sealed supply is opened and high-grade copies become scarce, premium gold versions typically strengthen over time if the set remains popular.
Next months. Expect volatility early on, with prices influenced by opening hype, grading submissions, and set-wide supply. Near-term prices may soften slightly after release waves, then stabilize.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card has a good chance to appreciate if Mega Evolution remains a sought-after era and if gem-mint population stays limited. The strongest upside is likely in graded/graded/graded 10 examples and well-centered French copies.
History
Méga-Gardevoir ex is based on Gardevoir, the final evolution of the Ralts line from the Pokémon franchise. Gardevoir debuted in the third-generation Pokémon games and quickly became one of the series’ most iconic Psychic/Fairy Pokémon, known for its elegant design, strong protective theme, and strong competitive card-game identity. In the Trading Card Game, Gardevoir has repeatedly been a centerpiece of energy acceleration and high-damage Psychic strategies, making any Mega Gardevoir release especially notable to collectors and players alike.
First released in the 2025 French Mega Evolution expansion as Méga-Gardevoir ex, card number 187/132, in the special Secret Rare Gold treatment. The French version is part of the Mega Evolution product line launched in late September 2025 in France, with this exact numbered variant appearing in the main set as a secret rare ultra-premium printing.
- This is a Secret Rare Gold variant, which places it above the standard set numbering and makes it one of the chase cards of the expansion.
- Mega Gardevoir ex is one of the headline cards of the Mega Evolution era, alongside Mega Lucario ex, and is heavily promoted for both collector appeal and playability.
- The card continues Gardevoir’s long-running reputation in the TCG as a premier Psychic-type powerhouse with energy acceleration and scaling damage potential.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for edge whitening, corner wear, surface scratches, print lines, centering issues, and especially gold-foil scuffing or scratching, which is common on textured and metallic secret rares. Inspect the front holo layer for pressure marks and the back for whitening along corners and edges. Because gold cards show damage easily, even light handling flaws can significantly affect grade.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve plus rigid holder or semi-rigid card saver for raw copies, and use a perfect-fit sleeve if double sleeving. Keep away from humidity, heat, and direct sunlight, since gold surfaces can fade or show wear more visibly. For high-value copies, consider professional grading and archival storage with low-handling protection.
Authenticity. Verify exact set numbering, French text consistency, correct energy symbols, and the quality of gold foil and texture. Counterfeits often have incorrect font weight, poor alignment, flat or blurry gold finish, or inconsistent holographic patterns. Compare the card against official images for the French Mega Evolution printing, and inspect texture and edge cut quality under strong light. graded, graded, or graded certification is recommended for high-end purchases.
