Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Base copies appear to have modest trading value and are likely to remain price-stable unless competitive play or scarcity shifts meaningfully. Premium variants should hold firmer due to character demand and collector appeal, but reprint influence may cap broader gains.
Next months. Expect base copies to remain low and fairly stable, while premium variants may fluctuate with grading demand and collector interest.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card is likely to remain a steady collectible with best performance in high-grade parallel/full-art and stamped copies; base SR growth is likely limited unless the set becomes more sought after overall.
History
Sanji is the Straw Hat Pirates’ cook from Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, one of the series’ core original crew members and a fan-favorite for his fighting style, loyalty, and gentlemanly persona. In the card game, he represents the Straw Hat Crew in a Purple 7-cost SR character with a powerful tempo-oriented On Play effect that can grant Rush and rest an opposing Character, making him thematically and mechanically significant as a mid-to-late game pressure card.
First printed in OP-09 Emperors in the New World / Japanese OP-09 release on December 13, 2024; English copies appeared in the English-language release of the same set.
- Official card name/number: Sanji OP09-065.
- Base card is a Super Rare Character, Purple, 7 cost, 7000 power, 1000 counter, Straw Hat Crew subtype.
- The card has a Parallel/Full Art version and a Championship-stamped promotional variant exists for event distribution, making the full-art stamp versions especially collectible.
- Limitless TCG lists the card as legal and notes it was later reprinted in One Piece Card The Best Vol.2 (PRB02), which can affect long-term supply dynamics.
- Market sources show the non-parallel raw version around the low-dollar range, while the alternate art/parallel commands a meaningful premium.
Collector notes
Condition. Check centering, surface print lines, edge whitening, and corner wear carefully; full-art foils often show scratches, roller marks, and visible surface scuffs under light. For stamped Championship variants, inspect stamp placement, clarity, and any pressure marks or handling wear around the foil/stamp area.
Storage. Use a fresh penny sleeve and a tight top loader or semi-rigid holder immediately; for the best copies, consider perfect-fit sleeves plus graded submission sleeves. Keep away from humidity, direct light, and friction, since foil surfaces can scratch easily.
Authenticity. Verify the exact card number OP09-065, correct purple frame/text layout, and official One Piece Card Game font and holo pattern. Championship-stamped copies should have a clean, properly aligned stamp and consistent print quality. Be cautious of altered/resealed cards, aftermarket stamps, and unofficial foil reproductions; compare with known authentic examples and, for high-value copies, use graded/graded/graded authentication.
