Market outlook
Rising Outlook 8/10
The card combines event-only availability, a beloved Disney character, and a very small foil print pool. Limited supply is likely to continue supporting prices, especially for clean raw copies and top grades.
Next months. Likely stable to moderately higher, with the best-condition copies and graded 10s outperforming average raw copies.
Long term. Likely gradual appreciation over 1-3 years if Lorcana promo collecting remains strong, with foil copies and high-grade examples holding the best upside.
History
Baymax is a Disney character from Big Hero 6, originally created as a compassionate healthcare companion robot built to assist and heal people. In Lorcana, Baymax is represented as a Sapphire character focused on damage removal and support, which matches his role as a protector and medic. The Challenge Promo version uses alternate art and event-prize treatment, making it one of the most desirable competitive-season Baymax collectibles.
First released as a Disney Lorcana Challenge promo card on December 7, 2024, tied to the 2024 European and North American Championship events. The card appeared in both foil and non-foil forms, with the foil Top 8 copies awarded at the championship events and non-foil copies distributed through Turbo Zone event prizing.
- This promo is card number 9/C1 in the Disney Lorcana Challenge promo series.
- The foil version was awarded to Top 8 players at both the European and North American Championships, creating a known tiny foil population of 16 copies.
- The non-foil version was used as event prize support in Turbo Zone side activities, and the same artwork was also used for related event merchandise such as sleeves and a playmat.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for edge whitening, corner wear, surface scratches, foil scuffing on the foil version, centering, and any print-line or saturation issues. Challenger promos can also show handling wear from event distribution, so clean corners and an untouched surface matter. Non-foil copies may appear slightly faded compared with other Lorcana cards, which is a known production characteristic rather than damage.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or card saver immediately, especially for foil copies. Use archival-grade storage, avoid direct light and humidity, and keep the card flat to prevent edge lift or surface abrasion. For graded-candidate copies, minimize handling and avoid repeated sleeving changes.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should match the Challenge Promo numbering 9/C1 and the official alternate-art Baymax design associated with the championship event. Foil copies should have the correct event promo finish rather than a standard retail foil pattern, and non-foil copies should not appear overly glossy. Because the card has prize-only distribution and low supply, unusually cheap raw copies, incorrect numbering, or mismatched artwork are the main red flags.
