Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Demand should remain steady because Exodia is one of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s most recognizable motifs, and early Spanish 1st Edition Ultra Rare copies retain collector appeal. Growth is likely to be gradual rather than explosive because this card already has established nostalgia-driven pricing and multiple later printings exist.
Next months. Likely stable to slightly rising for high-grade copies, with sharper movement only for pristine 1st Edition examples.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, expect slow appreciation for gem-mint or near-mint 1st Edition copies, while played copies should remain comparatively flat.
History
This card is one of the five pieces of Exodia, the Forbidden One, a classic Yu-Gi-Oh! win-condition monster whose complete set instantly wins the Duel when all five pieces are assembled in hand. In Spanish localization, the card is named 'Pierna Izquierda del Prohibido' and corresponds to the left leg piece of Exodia.
The original card was first released as Left Leg of the Forbidden One in Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon in Japan on 2002-03-08 as LOB-121; the Spanish localized print appears as LDD-S121 in the Spanish version of Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon released on 2003-10-01, as Ultra Rare and 1st Edition.
- It is part of the Exodia alternate win-condition line, making it one of the most iconic cards in the franchise.
- The Spanish version is listed as LDD-S121, while the original English/Japanese-era numbering is LOB-121.
- It is an Ultra Rare in the Spanish Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon release and is widely recognized as a chase card among early-language LOB collectors.
Collector notes
Condition. Check for corner whitening, edge wear, surface scratches, print lines, centering issues, and foil wear on the Ultra Rare name/foil treatment. Early LOB-era cards are especially prone to edge chipping and back scuffing, and 1st Edition copies should be inspected carefully for any fading, bends, or pressure marks.
Storage. Use a snug penny sleeve, then a rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder for valuable copies. Keep the card away from UV light, heat, humidity, and friction. For long-term storage, store upright in a cool dry environment with desiccant control and avoid repeated handling without gloves or clean hands.
Authenticity. Authentic early Spanish LOB cards should have crisp printing, correct Spanish text and set code LDD-S121, consistent Ultra Rare foil, and no obvious color bleed or blurry rosette patterns. Fake cards often show poor foil quality, incorrect font spacing, mismatched language/numbering, weak card stock, or oversized/smaller-than-normal dimensions. Compare against verified scans of Spanish 1st Edition LOB copies and check that the Exodia naming, set code, and layout match period-accurate printing.
