Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Promo prices are already supported by event exclusivity and Baymax popularity, but the card is not a first-edition starter-set chase item, so most upside is likely to come from graded scarcity and long-term Disney Lorcana collecting rather than rapid speculative growth.[1][7][9]
Next months. Expect moderate price stability with small movements based on grading results, platform supply, and collector interest in Championship promos.
Long term. Expect gradual appreciation for high-grade foils and steady retention for clean raw copies, with the strongest gains likely in graded 10/graded 10 examples.
History
Baymax is the inflatable personal healthcare companion from Disney’s Big Hero 6, a Marvel Comics/Disney character adapted from the 2014 animated film. In Lorcana, Baymax is treated as a Sapphire ink character whose gameplay identity centers on healing and damage removal, which closely matches the character’s medical-support role in the source material. The promo card uses alternate art tied to Lorcana Championship events and is one of the more collectible competitive-event promos from the 2024 season.[14][9]
First released as a 2024 Disney Lorcana Challenge/Championship promo card, with release date listed as December 7, 2024. It was distributed through Championship event prizing, including Top 8 foil copies and non-foil prizing through Turbo Zone participation at the European and North American Championship events.[1][9]
- This promo is card 9/C1 in the Challenge Promo sequence for English-language Lorcana promos.[12][17]
- It exists in both foil and non-foil standard versions, with the foil Top 8 allocation limited to 16 known copies across the European and North American Championships.[1]
- The same artwork was also used for Baymax-themed Championship sleeves and a playmat, which increases recognition among competitive Lorcana collectors.[1]

Collector notes
Condition. Check for edge wear, corner whitening, surface scratches, and centering issues, especially on the foil version. The card has been reported by collectors as looking somewhat faded compared with other promos, so color consistency alone is not a reliable defect indicator. On the non-foil version, look closely for handling dents and shuffle wear from tournament distribution.[10][1]
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve inside a rigid top loader or card saver for raw copies, and use a graded slab for high-grade foil copies. Keep away from sunlight, humidity, and friction, since promo foils are especially vulnerable to scuffing and surface marks.
Authenticity. Verify the collector number as 9/C1 and compare the alternate-art treatment, border, and foil pattern against known official images. Genuine copies were event-distributed and should match the official Championship promo layout; counterfeit or proxy copies often have incorrect sheen, print texture, or numbering. Because proxy-style aftermarket copies exist, provenance from event pulls or reputable sellers matters.[1][18]
