Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
Early-post-release chase cards often cool from launch hype and then stabilize as supply enters the market. Available trackers show a relatively wide but consistent price band rather than a clear breakout spike.[1][3][5]
Next months. Likely to trade in a fairly tight range with volatility driven by grading submissions, opening wave supply, and collector attention.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, strong gem-mint copies should retain a premium if the card remains one of the set’s defining chase cards, while raw copies may settle lower unless set scarcity proves stronger than expected.
History
Zygarde is a Legendary Pokémon from the Pokémon video game series, first introduced in Generation VI (Pokémon X and Y) as the Order Pokémon. It is associated with balance, ecosystem regulation, and maintaining harmony in the Kalos region. Mega Zygarde ex is a Mega Evolution-era trading card interpretation of that Legendary, presented as the flagship/maskot-style card for the Perfect Order set.[7][8]
First released in English in the Mega Evolution: Perfect Order expansion on March 27, 2026.[1][7][9]
- It is a Special Illustration Rare and the set’s consensus chase card, with full-art treatment.[2][4]
- It was released only as a holofoil variant, with no reverse-holo or alternate non-holo printing for the same card number/variant.[2]
- Market trackers list two different numbered Mega Zygarde ex entries in Perfect Order (#120/88 and #124/88), which suggests either data inconsistencies, alternate product listings, or different print/translation records across sources; the best-supported English chase-card listing is #124/88.[1][2][3][5]
Collector notes
Condition. Check the usual high-end chase-card flaws: whitening on corners and edges, surface scratches on the holofoil, print lines, centering, corner dings, and any texture/rubbing on the full-art surface. Because this is a premium illustration card, surface cleanliness and edge condition strongly affect grade appeal.[2][4]
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder immediately after opening, keep it away from humidity and direct light, and avoid stacking pressure that can create surface dents or holofoil scratches. For higher-value copies, consider professional grading and long-term archival storage.[4]
Authenticity. Verify the back-light test, rosette dot pattern, font weight and kerning, and holofoil behavior under magnification. Counterfeits exist for every set even if this specific card is not a commonly counterfeited target; high-value copies are best authenticated through graded, graded, or graded.[4]
