History
Houndoom is a Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II (Johto) and is known as the evolved form of Houndour. In the Pokémon TCG, Houndoom quickly became a fan-favorite competitive and collectible subject because of its strong visual design, Dark-type association, and recurring appearances as a holographic rare in early-era sets. Neo Revelation helped cement Houndoom as one of the standout Johto-era cards for collectors of vintage Pokémon holos.
First released in English in Neo Revelation (2001), which was part of the second-generation Neo era English Pokémon TCG releases. Card number 8/64, Rare Holo.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for holofoil scratches, edge whitening, corner wear, surface scuffs, print lines, and centering. Neo-era holos often show visible silvering and edge wear, and the dark holo background can make scratches and dents easier to spot. Since this is a vintage card, any clean surface and sharp corners materially improve value.
Storage. Use a penny sleeve plus a rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder for raw copies, and store in a cool, dry, low-light environment. For higher-end raw or graded copies, avoid pressure on the card and keep away from humidity, which can accelerate edge wear and warping. Do not use tight binders with poor-quality pages for long-term storage.
Authenticity. Verify correct vintage font, holo pattern, set symbol, card stock, and edge finish. Counterfeits may have blurry text, incorrect holo sheen, off-color borders, or poorly aligned printing. Compare against known authentic images and, for expensive copies, consider professional grading or authentication. Neo Revelation holos should also show consistent old-style print characteristics rather than modern glossy stock.
