Market outlook
Rising Outlook 7/10
The combination of iconic character, Full Art rarity, and strong graded-card premiums supports continued long-term collector demand. PriceCharting and Card Ladder data show that top-grade copies remain especially valuable, suggesting market resilience even when raw prices fluctuate.[2][7]
Next months. Likely stable to mildly rising, with the strongest movement in high-grade slabs and clean raw examples.
Long term. Likely continued appreciation over 1-3 years, especially for graded 9/10 and better, though raw copies may rise more slowly.
History
Rayquaza is a Legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn region introduced in the Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire era. It is known as a sky guardian and is central to the Hoenn weather-trio lore alongside Groudon and Kyogre. Mega Rayquaza became especially significant in competitive and collector culture because of its powerful card treatment and its high-profile role in the XY era, making it one of the most recognizable modern-era Legendary Pokémon in the TCG.[4]
This Full Art M Rayquaza EX #105/108 was first released in the English XY: Roaring Skies expansion in 2015.[2][4]
- This is the Full Art Ultra Rare version of M Rayquaza EX from Roaring Skies, card number 105/108.[2]
- Roaring Skies Mega Rayquaza EX cards are tracked across multiple printings/variants, and Sports Card Investor lists at least 9 Mega Rayquaza ex cards across at least 6 sets.[4]
- PriceCharting shows this card has a very large spread between raw and high-grade values, with graded 10 commanding a premium relative to ungraded copies.[2]
Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on corners and edges, surface scratching on the holo/full-art finish, centering issues, and any print lines or handling dents. Full-art EX cards are especially sensitive to edge wear, surface scuffs, and back-corner whitening from pack-to-sleeve handling.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and semi-rigid holder or top loader, keep away from humidity and direct sunlight, and avoid friction with other cards. For higher-grade copies, use fresh sleeves, rigid protection, and a stable climate to reduce warping and edge wear.
Authenticity. Verify correct fonts, texture, color balance, and holo pattern consistency against known authentic copies. Fake versions often show blurry text, incorrect card stock, misaligned borders, or overly glossy surfaces without the expected texture. Compare the card number 105/108, set symbol placement, and full-art texture details carefully.
