Kuzco: Temperamental Emperor

Market outlook

Stable Outlook 7/10

The championship foil version should remain anchored by scarcity and event provenance, while the regular promo version should stay more affordable and liquid. Unless Lorcana tournament promo collecting surges sharply, prices are likely to move mostly with overall Disney/Lorcana collector sentiment.

Next months. Likely stable to mildly rising for sealed/graded championship foil copies, with regular promo copies staying relatively flat.

Long term. Over 1-3 years, the championship foil version should retain premium collector value if preserved in high grade, while the regular promo is more likely to track broader Lorcana promo market trends than to spike dramatically.

History

Kuzco is the ego-driven emperor from Disney’s 2000 animated film The Emperor’s New Groove, where his character arc centers on vanity, selfishness, and eventual humility. In Disney Lorcana, he is represented as an Emerald character with the Temperamental Emperor subtitle, reflecting his defensive, unpredictable personality and his ability to punish challengers.

This card’s first known printing was as a Lorcana Championship/Promo release in 2024, associated with the Disney Lorcana TCG European Championship side events and top placement promos. The official event page lists Kuzco – Temperamental Emperor among the new promo cards available to side event participants, and the Top 16 reward package includes a foil promo version with extended artwork.

• The card is a promo release rather than a standard main-set card, and the championship variant is marked as 8/C1.
• Official Disney Lorcana event materials identify Kuzco – Temperamental Emperor as one of the new promo cards for 2024 championship events.
• The card’s core in-game mechanic is Ward plus a triggered effect that can banish the challenging character when Kuzco is challenged and banished.

Collector notes

Condition. Check for edge wear, corner whitening, surface scratches, and centering; promo cards can also show foil scuffing if they are the championship foil version. Because this card exists in both regular promo and foil championship variants, confirm finish, numbering, and any event-specific presentation details.

Storage. Store in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid holder, especially for foil copies. Keep it away from moisture, heat, and direct light, and use clean handling to avoid surface wear on the foil finish.

Authenticity. Verify the exact card number and promo identification, as the championship foil version is a distinct collectible from the regular promo. Authentic copies should match official Lorcana print quality, text layout, iconography, and card stock; suspicious copies may have blurry text, incorrect coloring, or off-register foiling. Compare against official images and trusted marketplace scans when possible.
