MICHAEL JORDAN 1989-90 NORTH CAROLINA'S FINEST COCA-COLA #13
Background compiled from public web sources. Check it before you buy or sell.
Recent graded 10 sale at $1,903 in 2025 reflects growing collector interest in pre-NBA Jordan cards, driven by UNC nostalgia and low supply.
Next months. Stable to rising with potential graded 10 sales pushing averages up in next 3-6 months.
Long term. Strong appreciation over 1-3 years as supply dwindles and Jordan collectibles outperform broader market.
Michael Jordan played college basketball for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, winning the 1982 NCAA Championship with a game-winning shot in the final against Georgetown; this card captures his legendary UNC era before his NBA stardom with the Chicago Bulls.
1989, released as part of the Collegiate Collection North Carolina's Finest set, a promotional collaboration with Coca-Cola featuring UNC athletes.
Condition. Check for centering issues common on edges (noted as L EDGE WR on similar cards), surface scratches from promo stamps, corner wear, and print defects; avoid cards with chipping on Coca-Cola stamps.
Storage. Store in semi-rigid holders or top-loaders with sleeves in a cool, dry environment away from light to preserve stamp integrity and prevent edge wear.
Authenticity. Verify Coca-Cola Classic and North Carolina's Finest stamps for correct font and coloring; check for proper card stock thickness and UNC holographics; authenticate via graded or graded as population reports show low graded examples.
