Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card benefits from iconic character demand and limited event distribution, but it is already recognized by collectors and has likely entered a more mature pricing phase after initial release hype.
Next months. Likely to hold steady with occasional spikes for graded mint copies and sealed-event provenance.
Long term. Likely gradual appreciation for top-condition winner copies, while lower-end raw copies should remain more stable than explosive.
History
Monkey D. Luffy is the main protagonist of One Piece, created by Eiichiro Oda, and the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. In the One Piece Card Game, Luffy is one of the most iconic and heavily collected characters because he represents the franchise’s core hero and has strong cross-audience appeal among anime fans, competitive players, and collectors.
This P-135 English promo was first released as part of the OP-16 Release Event promotion in June 2026, with official event participation and winner allocations tied to the OP-16 Release Event period (June 5–11, 2026). It appears in promotional distribution rather than a normal booster set release.
- Officially identified as P-135 and tied to the OP-16 Release Event Winner distribution.
- The card exists as a parallel/winner-style promo with special event stamping rather than a standard pack-pulled version.
- Collector listings and price trackers show multiple variants/printings associated with the P-135 promo family, including normal participation promos and winner-stamped copies.
Collector notes
Condition. Check centering, foil/surface scratches, edge whitening, corner dings, and any stamp wear or misalignment. For winner-stamped copies, the stamp area is especially important because rubbing or fading can materially affect value.
Storage. Store in a penny sleeve plus semi-rigid or top loader, keep away from UV light, humidity, and friction, and avoid stacking. Winner-stamped promos are best preserved in magnetic holders or graded slabs if mint.
Authenticity. Verify the P-135 numbering, OP-16 Release Event Winner identification, correct English text, and the special stamp/foil treatment. Authentic copies should show consistent printing quality, clean stamp application, and the correct official card back and border finish; suspiciously blurry text, off-color inks, or mismatched stamping are red flags.
