Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card benefits from enduring character popularity and a collectible manga-alt treatment, but the broader market for One Piece TCG chase cards has matured, reducing the likelihood of extreme near-term spikes unless driven by a major tournament/meta resurgence or renewed set nostalgia.
Next months. Likely to trade within a stable range with occasional spikes for clean raw or high-grade copies.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, strong copies should remain desirable and may appreciate gradually if One Piece TCG collector demand stays healthy, though growth is likely to be uneven and grade-dependent.
History
Eustass "Captain" Kid is a major pirate from Eiichiro Oda's One Piece, best known as one of the Eleven Supernovas and one of the most dangerous members of the Worst Generation. He leads the Kid Pirates and is characterized by his ruthless ambition, metal-manipulation abilities, and rivalry with Luffy and Law. In the One Piece Card Game, Kid is a highly recognizable competitive and collectible character because of his strong in-universe reputation and recurring leader/character popularity.
First released in Japan in 2023 as OP05-074 in the set Awakening of the New Era (also known as 500 Years in the Future in some English/localized references). The English-language card game release followed Bandai's regional product rollout, with the card appearing in the English card pool under the same card number and set identity.
- OP05-074 is a Super Rare Character card in purple with 5 cost, 6000 power, and Blocker.
- Its ability triggers when a DON!! card is returned to your DON!! deck, a mechanic that fits purple ramp/control strategies.
- The Manga Alt Art variant is significantly more collectible than the regular SR printing because manga-style parallel cards are short-printed and heavily chased by collectors.

Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on corners and edges, especially the black-bordered manga alt art frame. Watch for surface scratches, print lines, centering issues, and foil scuffing visible under light. Because manga-alt cards are premium pulls, even minor edge wear can affect grade heavily.
Storage. Store immediately in a penny sleeve and rigid top loader or semi-rigid card holder. Keep away from humidity, direct sunlight, and frequent handling. For high-value copies, use a graded slab or archival-quality sleeve/card saver setup with controlled temperature and low moisture.
Authenticity. Verify the official Bandai copyright text, correct OP05-074 numbering, and consistent One Piece Card Game font/layout. Authentic manga-alt cards should have crisp print quality, proper texture/foil behavior, and accurate border alignment. Compare against known authentic scans for the exact language/version, and be cautious of misrepresented regular SR copies being sold as manga alt art.
