Greninja Star

Market outlook

Stable Outlook 6/10

Prices flat with raw at ~$12 and graded low/mid grades under $50; no recent sales momentum or hype drivers.

Next months. Stable with minor fluctuations around $10-50 for raw/graded; potential small bump from sealed ETB openings.

Long term. Stable to slight rise if Celebrations nostalgia grows with Pokémon's 30th anniversary approaching, but unlikely to explode without reprints or meta relevance.

History

Greninja is the final evolution of Froakie, a Water/Dark-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI (Pokémon X and Y). Known as the Ninja Pokémon, it is renowned for its speed, agility, and battle prowess, often depicted as a swift shinobi-like fighter with tongue scarf and water shuriken attacks, making it a fan-favorite in competitive play and media.

First released in 2021 as part of the Pokémon Celebrations Elite Trainer Box and Pokémon Center version, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

• Revives the rare 'Star' (☆) Pokémon mechanic from the EX era (2004-2007), last seen in EX Power Keepers.
• Exclusively inserted in Celebrations Elite Trainer Boxes; cannot be used in official tournaments.
• Features 25th Anniversary Logo stamp and Gold Star variant design.

Collector notes

Condition. Check for centering issues on edges, surface scratches on gold star foil, print lines or dimples common in promo foils from Elite Trainer Boxes, and edge whitening from rough handling.

Storage. Use semi-rigid holders or top-loaders with sleeves in a cool, dry environment away from sunlight to prevent foil oxidation; avoid stacking under heavy pressure.

Authenticity. Verify holo pattern matches official with crisp 25th Anniversary stamp and correct font on 'SWSH144'; fakes often have blurry stars or incorrect backing; cross-check with graded pop reports for grade distribution.
